I am trying to upload a Word Document with an embedded picture (a copy and paste enhanced metafile image from PowerPoint) into google Docs and it doesn’t seem to work. I need to bring this file into google docs so that I can export it as a .pdf file for my Shul Melaveh Malkah (the printer needs a .pdf file or a huge setup fee).
with Powerpoint I can convert to a jpeg file and upload the picture perfectly, however they load as landscape and I need portrait.
any help with either of these possibilities would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Like if PP sees it normally as = make it ” (closest I could come) so that the landscape is really regular.
Good luck.

if you have microsoft word 2007, you can download a thingie from microsoft that enables you to create PDFs directly from word without needing to use google docs.
I don’t know if this download is available for earlier versions of word or not, I searched the microsoft site and didn’t see it but maybe I missed it. If you don’t have word 2007, maybe you can email it as a .doc to someone who does and they can make it into a pdf and send it back to you.

Maybe you can email your doc to a moderator and ask if they can email it to me, then I can make it into a pdf and send it back via the mod. I won’t be home till tonight, i hope it won’t be too late by then for this melave malka flyer.
February 19, 2009 6:33 pm at 6:33 pm #638509mdlevineMemberthanks everybody.
I tried the help key and I tried changing the orientation
I did not try to microsoft link because before this post I was told of something called PDF995 which is free. I tried a few sample (single page, multiple page, diff languages and fonts) and it worked perfectly! it shows up in your printer selection and you choose that.
I was going to buy it from adobe for 9.99/month if this didn’t work.
as I mentioned in the opening post – I need to do this for a Melaveh Malkah AD journal for the Young Israel of Spring Valley which is in Memory of Rabbi Heshy and Suzy Chapler Z”L. If anyone is interested in details please contact yisv.melavehmalkah@gmail.com
February 19, 2009 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm #638510mdlevineMemberthanks for the offer charlie brown, but it will hopefully be 100 pages in PowerPoint and I think that the PDF995 approach is going to work.
