PETA believes that using animals as a food source is unethical, which is anti-Torah.
DovidBTParticipantCTLAWYER: Is it the place of members of Congress to encourage the rioting, to encourage disrespect of law enforcement officers, to undermine the imprisonment of violent criminals, and to try to intimidate judges and jurors to render verdicts that align with political viewpoints?
November 23, 2021 12:13 pm at 12:13 pm in reply to: Is homework for our children actually important? Does it make any difference? #2032693DovidBTParticipantDoes homework teach children how to learn by their own efforts, which is a skill they will need when they’re adults and no longer in school?
DovidBTParticipant‘The point should be revised to, “did he have any business bringing along an assault rifle”. ‘
An AR-15 is just a semi-automatic rifle. It’s not an “assault” rifle.
DovidBTParticipant“I’m just curious how you will find the Perp in Waukesha Not guilty.”
He was obviously defending our nation from a parade of white supremacists.
DovidBTParticipant“How about a pine marten?”
Gorillas are herbivorous, not carnivorous. So a pine marten would not be a useful substitute for the rice bait.
DovidBTParticipantFor the sake of fairness, there should be a gorilla participating in this discussion.
November 7, 2021 12:54 pm at 12:54 pm in reply to: Trump is a Distraction, Much to the Detriment of the Republican Party #2025658DovidBTParticipant“If Trump and DeSantis both run…”
That would be a tough decision. As a Florida resident, I think DeSantis is an outstanding Governor and I wouldn’t want to lose him. But assuming that he’s re-elected as Governor in 2022, then being elected as President in 2024 would only affect the last two years of his second term as Governor. He couldn’t serve a third consecutive term.
November 5, 2021 1:16 pm at 1:16 pm in reply to: Trump is a Distraction, Much to the Detriment of the Republican Party #2025293DovidBTParticipantI fully support Trump. I voted for him in 2020, and I would vote for him in the future. He’s was the best President the U.S. has had in a long time.
But if the mobs of ignorant, irrational Trump-haters are keeping the Democrats in power, maybe Trump should step aside and turn the reins of the Republican party over to someone else who’s more palatable to the voters.
DovidBTParticipant“It is a democracy since people are the deciding factor as to which party should be in control.”
Also, that assumes that elections are fair and impartial. That’s not the case when voters are not required to properly identify themselves as registered voters when casting ballots. That’s not the case when ballots are mass-mailed to the population and insufficient measures are taken to authenticate the ballots. And that’s not the case when millions of illegal aliens are dumped into the country and allowed to vote (which is the Democrats’ obvious goal).
DovidBTParticipant“It is a democracy since people are the deciding factor as to which party should be in control.”
That presumes that people are free to express their opinions without fear of reprisal by the government and the mob.
DovidBTParticipant“This is how a democracy is supposed to work.”
One party is using mainstream news organizations and social media to spread misinformation, suppress facts and opinions they don’t like, and intimidate people who disagree with them.
That’s not how a democracy is supposed to work.
DovidBTParticipant“BRING BACK THE SUB-TITLES!!”
They’re still here, but now we’re all auto-titled as “Participant”. It’s like in the old USSR, when everyone was “Comrade”. Even the Coffee Room is becoming Marxist.

That would be a big step in restoring control of the nation to leaders who aren’t trying to destroy it.

DovidBTParticipantOkay, okay, I’ll stop making the lights move across the sky. I didn’t realize it would upset people.
DovidBTParticipantIs there a limit to the number of times a Vice President can be elected?
Hypothetical scenario:
A person is elected as VP. Six months into his term, the President dies, and the VP becomes President for the remainder of the term.
Then another candidate is elected as President along with the SAME Vice President. Again, the President dies after six months, and the VP becomes President again.
Could that weird scenario repeat indefinitely (until the VP succumbs to old age)?
DovidBTParticipantI see that CTL is still stricken with Trump Derangement Syndrome. 🙁
Refuah shelimah
DovidBTParticipantCongratulations on your recovery.
It remains to be seen whether your political viewpoints have improved. 🙂
DovidBTParticipant“So you aren’t saving the amount of bills used.”
“the topic is about putting them in circulation not creating a bill for every denomination”
These contradictory statements are very disturbing.
DovidBTParticipantFor 6 dollar transaction you would pay with 2 threes but you can use a 5 and a 1.
Then there should be six-dollar bills too.DovidBTParticipantThere should be three-dollar bills. That would nicely fill the gap between a one-dollar bill and a five-dollar bill.
DovidBTParticipantRefuah shleimah
DovidBTParticipantCTL : Can you explain why the Republicans’ laudable activities in enacting legislation to make voting honest and accurate is restricting access? Meanwhile, the Democrats are trying to make it easier to stuff the ballot boxes with illegal votes.
DovidBTParticipantI think you’ll find it was filthy treasonist Republicans who stormed the Capitol in the January 6th insurrection
That was a direct result of the filthy treasonist Democrats who work in the Capitol aiding and abetting violent criminals in the streets all over the country, and teaching them to hate and rebel against law enforcement officers.
DovidBTParticipantThe criminals and their supporters vote the Democrats into office. Without their votes, they wouldn’t be able to win elections.
DovidBTParticipantFirst, it (a tarp) is good for light rain but don’t use it when heavy downpour is forecast since the water can “pool” and the weight will collapse your succah.
I learned that the hard way. Fortunately, I was able to prevent the s’chach from being destroyed by quickly poking holes in the tarp with a knife. 🙂
DovidBTParticipantPut one or more refreezable ice packs in the cooler, and wrap the tefillin bag in a thick, dry towel.
I suppose you could put a thermometer in or next to the tefillin bag, ideally one that records the max temperature, and check it after it’s been in the hot car all day.
DovidBTParticipantHow about a mongoose? Then you don’t have to worry about snakes.
DovidBTParticipant“The Federal Government did NOT prosecute and Police in the George Floyd murder, neither did the defund the police.”
Someone who posts that sentence is not qualified to criticize someone else’s grammar.
“They is a pronoun,”
That’s a grammatical microgression. Now I’m going to need therapy.

DovidBTParticipantThe nation was named the “United States” for a reason. The left tries to ignore that since it interferes with their agenda.

The suspect, 29-year-old Jordan Burnette, was granted supervised release by Judge Tara Collins in Bronx Criminal Court — hours after he was ordered held on bail on 42 charges stemming from his alleged 11-day crime spree, said Patrice O’Shaughnessy, a spokeswoman for the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.

DovidBTParticipantA totally non-connected comment to the discussion that the Constitution requires all people residing in the US be counted.
The purpose of this discussion is to celebrate the fact that the 2020 Census results may help get the anti-American morons out of the White House and the Congress.
DovidBTParticipantRepublican states gained House seats and electoral college representation whereas Democrat states overall lost.
To be specific, the Red states gained three House seats and Electoral College votes, while the Blue states lost three. Hopefully that six seat/vote advantage will help the 2022 and 2024 elections put the nation back in the hands of the people who want to improve it, not destroy it.
April 27, 2021 8:39 pm at 8:39 pm in reply to: did my thread entitled “double news” go thru? #1968794DovidBTParticipantDid my thread “Here is an irrefutable science-based analysis that the Torah is true” go through? I hope so, because that was my only copy, and it took me 20 years to complete it.
DovidBTParticipantHow was Hatzalah of Florida operating until now, before this new law?
The bill wasn’t needed simply for Hatzalah to exist. The bill authorizes them to use flashing red lights and sirens on their vehicles and to respond to emergencies:
Volunteer Ambulance Services: Authorizing certain medical staff of a volunteer ambulance service to use red lights on a privately owned vehicle under certain circumstances; authorizing vehicles of volunteer ambulance services to show or display red lights and operate emergency lights and sirens under certain circumstances; authorizing privately owned vehicles belonging to certain medical staff of a volunteer ambulance service to display or use red warning signals under certain circumstances; providing that county and municipal governments may not limit, prohibit, or prevent volunteer ambulance services from responding to emergencies or providing emergency medical services or transport within their respective jurisdictions, etc.
DovidBTParticipantit’s confusing to me that yiddem do not want Hazolah in their neighborhood
Is it the non-religious Jews who don’t want Hatzalah? If so, it’s not surprising.
DovidBTParticipantWell it passed, so you can calm down now.
Fortunately, the Combating Public Disorder bill became law a week ago, so when the leftist mob starts protesting volunteer ambulance services, the violence will be limited.
DovidBTParticipantIt passed the House by a vote of 98 to 12, so the odds are good that it will be passed by the Senate.
For reference, it’s HB 805 – Volunteer Ambulance Services
April 22, 2021 2:14 pm at 2:14 pm in reply to: Do our eyes tell us what happened to GEORGE FLOYD #1967159DovidBTParticipantAny decent Defense lawyer would demand that the Trial take place out of Minneapolis.
I think he requested a change of venue, but it was denied.
DovidBTParticipantLearning to write is a long, gradual process. If you do an internet search, there are lots of web sites and articles on the subject.
DovidBTParticipant… it still isn’t reparations, it’s to make them no different than Americans just like Americans receive unemployment (or even stimulus) so to illegals should get it too
That’s like saying that people who are in prison should get the same privileges as everyone else. For example, other people have the privilege of not being in prison. Therefore, people in prison should be released from prison.
DovidBTParticipantThese nonsensical debates here are an embarrassment.
That statement is biased against people who are incapable of using common sense due to being oppressed.
DovidBTParticipantLiberals believe that black people should get preferential treatment under the law. The Torah says that laws should be applied equally.
DovidBTParticipantThe democrats are not doing any of these steps.
I argue that republicans are responsible for all of them. That’s another tactic used by socialists/communists/totalitarians: the Big Lie. Keep repeating a lie over and over again, and people will start to believe it, especially if dissenting ideas are suppressed.
DovidBTParticipantMore details:
“Daunte Wright, the 20-year-old Black man shot by a police officer in a Minneapolis suburb Sunday afternoon, had an open warrant for his arrest related to an aggravated armed robbery attempt when he was killed, according to court records.”
(source: foxnews.com)DovidBTParticipantThings happen in pressure situations. Why was he under arrest?
“Authorities said the car was pulled over for having an expired registration and after determining the driver had an outstanding warrant, police said they tried to arrest him. The driver then re-entered the vehicle, and an officer fired, striking him, police said. The vehicle traveled several blocks before striking another vehicle. … Court records show Wright was being sought after failing to appear in court on charges that he fled from officers and possessed a gun without a permit during an encounter with Minneapolis police in June. In that case, a statement of probable cause said police got a call about a man waving a gun who was later identified as Wright.”
